Mauritius, a sparkling jewel in the turquoise waters of the Mascarene archipelago, is a little piece of paradise in the southwestern Indian Ocean. It is a place of rich lagoons, white sandy beaches, forest-covered mountains and lush, hidden valleys.
Passport Requirements: All participants must have a valid passport in order to enter the country.
Entry Visas: Upon arrival, your passport will be stamped with a tourist visa valid for sixty days. You will need to provide immigration authorities with evidence of an onward or return journey. You may also be asked you to prove that you have the financial means to support yourself for the duration of your stay in Mauritius.
Please note that these regulations apply to EU nationals. Race participants from other countries are advised to contact their consulate for visa information.
Vaccinations: Malaria does not exist in Mauritius and no vaccination or preventative medication is required. However, a yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for visitors who have lived in a high-risk area or country for over a year.
Medication: There are no venomous animals or dangerous species on the island. However, participants should bring a medical kit with them, including creams to protect them from mosquitoes and the sun.
